The Danny Rumph Classic Basketball Tournament stands as a highlight in Philadelphia's sporting calendar and is the flagship event of the Daniel E. Rumph II Foundation. Dedicated to the memory of Danny, this tournament celebrates his passion for basketball, a love shared by many. Tragically lost to a heart condition in 2005 at The Mallery Recreation Center, now renamed as the Daniel E. Rumph II Recreation Center in his honor, this event has grown from a local Philadelphia initiative to become one of the most eagerly anticipated summer events on the East Coast.
